This is a little gem tucked into a non-descript office area north of the airport. The family that runs this place is warm and friendly, and excited to offer tours of the facility. The place is very clean and the tour is interesting. I love that they showcase the Taíno and Puerto Rican cultures.

Great place to go on a date night or just to relax and enjoy a drink. We were able to learn the rum distillation process from start to finish from Luis. You can definitely feel his love for the craft and the desire to provide an experience to their customers. Luis and his wife Mary treated us as if we were part of their family, and we're definitely coming back.

Hey everyone, This is a rum and vodka BAR/Distillery! Who would have guessed that the combination would work amazingly together. If you request a tour, you’ll be able to sample the product afterwards, then you can chill and order cocktails……delicious cocktails 🍸 🍹. The owners are absolutely wonderful, they make you feel so welcome. I did this as a surprise for my husband…..he had a great time😉. Multiple bottles of rum and vodka to choose from…...we got ours😉. Plenty of room for groups and couples. Just show up and enjoy. Hope you have a great time!

What started as going to get a cocktail and try a little rum turned into a personal tour by the owner and distiller Luis. We didn't have any expectations for our visit, but we're welcomed in as old friends and given nothing less than the royal treatment. It all started with the story of why this rum is so important and special to Luis, and what the meaning behind the name of the business. This was shortly followed by a personal tour through the distillery followed by a guided tasting followed by hand crafted cocktails using all of the spirits made on site. Truly an amazing experience, and some delicious rum made in sweet home Alabama. I will most certainly be going back.

I came with my fiancé and his family and I can’t recommend this place enough. Louis and his wife are amazing and will treat you like family. The drinks are second to none this isn’t some cheap rum and each of their different options gives a unique profile I’ve never tasted with any other rum. Louis sat down with us first thing and gave us a tasting of each option and was a great personality. After the tasting I’m pretty sure everyone in our party knew they were leaving with a bottle. The mixed drinks were great too but I can’t get over the rum straight up.

Our history

We are a family distillery that focuses on providing quality and flavor inspired by Puerto Rican tradition.My passion for rum comes from my maternal side. My grandfather, Modesto Peña, was a liquor maker in Puerto Rico more than 100 years ago. Therefore; I decided to name our first rum “IRIS” in honor of my mother. Iris, you are the biggest inspiration in my life! Always give me your blessing! I founded Guajana Distillery in 2014 with the hope that I could follow in my grandfather’s footsteps. We will always try to follow the tradition of Puerto Rico rum of more than 450 years. Guajana Distillery will always exude pride and tradition.
